Scholarship Name Eligibility Benefits

Language excellence

Applicants who submitted TOPIK level 3 or higher at the designated application period, for the first semester after admission

TOPIK level 6: full tuition
TOPIK level 5: 80% of tuition
TOPIK level 4: 60% of tuition
TOPIK level 3: 50% of tuition

GPA excellence

Enrolled students whose GPA of the previous semester is over 2.0, for that semester

GPA 4.0 or higher: full tuition
GPA 3.5 or higher: 70% of tuition
GPA 3.0 or higher: 60% of tuition
GPA 2.5 or higher: 50% of tuition
GPA 2.0 or higher: 40% of tuition

¡¤ Scholarships apply to students who entered KPU through International Admission process.

¡¤ GPA excellence scholarship applies to students with health insurance and TOPIK level 4 or higher effective until the end of relevant semester.

KGSP (Korean Government Scholarship Program)

Purpose

To provide international students with an opportunity to conduct advanced studies at higher educational institutions in Korea, To develop global leaders and strengthen Korea-friendly networks worldwide.

Tech University of Korea accepts admissions applications from both undergraduate and graduate-level students who have received this scholarship.

Scholarship Period / Qualifications

Scholarship Period Undergraduate Korean language course (up to 1 year) + Bachelor¡¯s degree course requirements (4 years)
Graduate 1 year of Korean language + 2 years of Master's course or 3 years of Doctoral course
Qualifications

Prospective applicants must meet the following qualification criteria; 1. Must be a citizen of the country to which the scholarship is offered, which also applies to the applicants' parents
2. ¨ç Undergraduate: Have graduated or will be scheduled to graduate from high school as of March 1st of the invitation year. ¨è Graduate: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree as of September 1st of the selection year. * Applicants who have previously enrolled in or graduated from an undergraduate program, a master's program, or a doctoral program (including exchange program) in Korea are ineligible to apply for the program.
3. Must possess above 80% (out of 100%) cumulative grade point average (CGPA), or must be within the top 20% (out of 100%) in rank in the previously attended institution.

Selection Procedure

Undergraduate Program

- 1st round of selection : Korean Embassies will recruit and select qualified candidates

* Applicants should apply for the program THROUGH their local Korean Embassy

- 2nd round of selection : NIIED selection committee will screen qualified candidates selected by the Korean Embassies

- 3rd round of selection : Korean Universities will screen candidates for admission Announcement of final successful candidates will be made

Graduate Program

- 1st Selection : The 1st selection institutions (Overseas Korean embassies or Domestic designated universities) will draft a selections standard based on the criteria provisioned by NIIED, and will recommend qualified applicants according to its respective standards.

- 2nd Selection : The NIIED selection committee will select the most successful candidates from the pool of applicants recommended by the 1st selection institutions.

- 3rd Selection : Only candidates who were recommended by a Korean embassy and have passed the 2nd selection successfully will be evaluated for admission. Successful candidates will gain admission from at least one of the three universities.

GKS (Global Korea Scholarship)

Eligibility

Self-financed international students in their second, third and fourth year (Cumulative GPA and previous semester¡¯s GPA must be over 80 out of 100).

Selection Procedure

Submit documents to the International Relations Center ¡æ National Institute for International Education ¡æ Selection

Scholarship

- Approximately 6 million KRW (500,000 KRW per month).
- Period: About 12 months.
