Introduction to Screenwriting

This is a screenwriting course for students to develop their creative writing and English Language skills. The first half of the course gives students a complete framework for writing successful screenplays. They learn about screenplay structure, creating characters, setting tones and applying themes. The second half of the course tasks students with writing their own 30-minute screenplay. Through peer review and self-review, they write and refine their script until it is submitted as their final project. In week 14, they learn how to sell their script and in the last class they pitch it to the class.
