International students at KPU must sign up for travellers' insurance that guarantees more than the coverage of 10,000 USD minimum for injuries and illness. After signing up for the insurance, you have to submit the certified documents to the Office of International Affairs.

People who want to sign up for National Health Insurance in Korea.
National Health Insurance is the policy the government proceeds under the law. It is the social security system with reliable insurance services to improve national health against illness and injuries through diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, births and deaths. If you are a foreigner living in Korea with your family, we recommend you to sign up for National Health Insurance that gives benefits to the whole family with one family member signing up.
You can apply to go to the nearest National Health Insurance Corporation. Please contact the National Health Insurance Corporation (1577-1000) or (http://www.nhic.or.kr) for more information.

Students can receive some discount benefits at every hospital.
Students need to pay approx. 20% of medical expenses in case of hospitalization.
Students need to pay approx. 30% of medical expenses in case they are treated at a clinic.
Students need to pay approx. 40% of medical expenses in case they are treated at a hospital.
Students need to pay approx. 60% of medical expenses in case they are treated at a general hospital.
